But now, it definitely has the legs and the generational appeal, and the fun that everybody is looking for in a movie, especially these days. It felt so magical, and with the three witches played by the iconic Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy, we all felt like this was going to be it-and then when it bombed, it was super disappointing. “When I was on the set, it felt like this could be like ‘The Wizard of Oz,’ something for generations to come. Shaw, who is currently working on the second season of Apple TV’s “Swagger,” spoke of how the movie was originally considered a box-office failure, but eventually found generations of audiences through home video and cable television. We asked the audience if they minded it, and they said no. There was a projector and some microphones, and that was it, so we basically picked up the microphones and started doing commentary over the film. ![]() “They just happened to have an outdoor screening of the movie,” she said, “and if anyone wanted to come, they could camp out and watch the movie.
